PartnersThe Association of European Schools of Planning was established in 1987 in Belgium as an international association with scientific, artistic and educational purposes and operates according to its. With over 150 members, AESOP is the only representation of planning schools of Europe. Given this unique position, AESOP strengthens its profile as a professional body. AESOP mobilizes its resources, taking a leading role and entering its expertise into ongoing debates and initiatives regarding planning education and planning qualifications of future professionals.
The European Urban Knowledge Network is an intergovernmental urban network. The key objective of EUKN is to enhance the exchange of knowledge and expertise on urban development throughout Europe, bridging urban policy, research and practice. EUKN is characterised by a demand-driven approach, based on the needs of urban practitioners and policymakers. EUKN has developed an extensive, high-quality knowledge database, based on shared standards and protocols. This extensive e-library provides free access to case studies, research results, policy documents, context issues, network descriptions, updated news and meetings.
The International Society of City and Regional Planners is a global association of experienced professional planners from more than 80 countries worldwide. As a non-governmental organisation ISOCARP is recognized by the UN, UNHCS and the Council of Europe, and has a formal consultative status with UNESCO. The objectives of ISOCARP include the improvement of planning practice through the creation of a global and active network of practitioners.
The year 2015 will mark the 50th Anniversary of the Society, with celebrations culminating in the 51st World Congress with the theme Cities Save The World - Let's Reinvent Planning (the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, 19-23 October 2015).
